A
Little About Me:
I graduated from FKHS in 1993 and am happy to
be an alumni teaching in my hometown.
After graduating high school I went to Coffeyville Community College for
two years and obtained an AA degree in 1995. Then, leaving Coffeyville I went to Oklahoma State
University in Stillwater, OK. for three years graduating in the fall of 1998
with a Bachelors of Science in education.
GO POKES!!! The fall of 1999
I returned home and went to work in the real world as people say at Longfellow
elementary school. After a year
there the school was closed so I was repositioned here at the high school were
I belong and still am today. I am
currently working on a Masters Degree from Emporia State University. As well as teaching I am on the
District Steering Committee and the Building Leadership Team. I am also the sponsor of the HOSA
chapter at the high school. I will
try and update this page when I can and hope you check back soon.

After break we will be working on fitness testing starting with the PACER test. The PACER is a running test that increases speed and certain intervals of time. We will also be looking at sit-ups and push-ups as well as flexibility.
Swimming class we will be assessing skill levels of the new class. My understanding that the pool may be drained for repairs this semester for a portion of the time. If this occurs we will treat this class as a PE 1 class.

There will be no health careers class this semester as it is only offered during the first semester each year. The class is fun for the students and is becoming more so each year. We plan to offer more hands on activities each year. This last semester a group of students were taken to Greenbush for a career day in health areas. The Joplin life-flight helicopter was there and the students seemed to enjoy looking through it.
In order to take health careers you need to take a general biology class or have concurrent enrollment. After health careers you may take A&P and end with a capstone observation class.
