GearUp is sponsoring some fun, educational activities for summer. Contact the GearUp office to enroll in these classes.

GearUp will pay tuition of any freshman 16 or older that is interesting in taking the Certified Nurses Aid course offered at the VoTech

GearUp will provide a scholarships for any 9th grade students to take one class at LINC. Initial payment will be required by parents, GearUp will reimburse parents upon the students' successful completion of the course, with an A, B, or C. For more detail please contact the GearUp Office.
June 6 - 8, 2002
College Days Camp at Coffeyville Community College
Fifteen slots are available for GearUp students to participate with Talent Search in "College Days" camp at CCC June 6 - 8. Activities will begin at 12:00 p.m. June 6th and conclude at 2:30 p.m. on June 8th.

Kansas City Royal's Baseball Game
Incentive trip for those students who demonstrate academic success. Students who maintain a 3.33 GPA or above, or increase their GPA by .25 from second nine weeks to 3rd nine weeks will be eligible to attend.
Game time against the St. Louis Cardinals will begin at 1:05 p.m. Students will depart from FKHS at 9:00 a.m. and return at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Details of trips will be provided closer to dates. Contact the GearUp office for additional information and parent permission forms.

Adventure Camp (Greenbush - Girard, Kansas)
Students will experience a wide variety of exciting activities, such as: hiking, canoeing, fishing, doing ropes course activities, and much more. Students will be challenged to participate in teamwork activities and communication skills will be exercised.

Spring Break - St. Louis campus visits and city tours
30 Sophomores will travel to St. Louis, MO. During this trip 2 college visits have been planned along with several other activities. Planned events are: St. Louis Arch and museum, riverboat cruise, Holocaust museum, an afternoon at the mall, and St Louis Blues Hockey game.
Any parent wishing to chaperone please let the GearUp Office know.
