445 Awarded Early Childhood Block Grant |
The Kansas Children's Cabinet
and Trust Fund has awarded Coffeyville USD #445 the
Early Childhood Block Grant (ECBG).
The awarded amount is $997, 339.00, and will
be used to provide preschool services for all
Coffeyville
area four-year-old children.
Tuition costs may apply for some students.
Coffeyville USD 445 is very
proud and excited to receive this grant.

Studies have shown that children born in poverty and
at high risk of failing in school who attend
preschool have higher IQ's, a better chance of
graduating high school, and higher lifetime
earnings. Another
benefit for students, according to the
*study, their basic achievement by age 14
improves by almost 30%.

Grade Teachers at Community Elementary received
the "Challenge Award of Recognition," at
the January 14th Board Meeting.

award recognizes their uncommon accomplishment in
closing the achievement
gap
in Reading during the 2011-12 school year!

Year" Award.
