Coffeyville 2006-2011 Strategic Plan

Building on our culturally diverse community, USD 445 will prepare all students for life-long learning by providing resources for a comprehensive quality education in a safe environment that promotes high academic achievement and responsible citizenship in a global society.

Objectives
Objective 1: 100% of our students will meet graduation requirements
Objective 2: 100% of our students will be actively engaged in the learning process.
Objective 3: 100% of our students will have the opportunity to meet Kansas Board of Regents requirements.
Objective 4: 100% of our students will test at proficient or above on all state assessments.

Belief Statements

1. All individuals need a safe learning environment.
2. Education is a shared responsibility of students, parents, educators, and the community.
3. All students can learn with appropriate goals, support, and instruction reflective of their individual differences.
4. Every person makes a difference.
5. Coffeyville USD 445 should adhere to a high level of honesty, integrity, and trust.
6. Discipline is an important part of learning.
7. In fostering mutual respect and appreciation of one another's differences and commonalities.
8. Everyone deserves the opportunity for a quality education.
9. Engaging students in the learning process is important.
10. An enhanced curriculum is essential in meeting the changes in today's society.
11. Our children are our future.
12. Learning is a lifelong process.
13. Cultural diversity is fundamental to educational life.
14. The whole community must provide resources for maximum educational opportunities for all students.
15. The district should promote good citizenship in an environment that meets basic needs and is free from humiliation and intimidation.

• keep students as our first priority in an empathetic learning environment that will challenge them to do their best.

• make a decision without relevant research and supporting data.
• tolerate any discriminatory behavior which demeans another individual.

Strategies

1. Students will be held accountable to a high quality of work and teachers will not easily accept failure as an option.
2. We will use effective and innovative practices to help all students actively engaged in the learning process.
3. District will maintain current curriculum standards for Regents classes.
4. The district will allocate resources to ensure the assessed indicators in the aligned curricula are taught by highly qualified staff.
5. We will implement a plan to address facility needs in a fiscally responsible manner that will allow us to accommodate out projected enrollment increase to accomplish out mission.
