Playground Structures Updates

  • 10/31/2023 - Proposal deadline of 2:00 pm 10/31/2023 has been reached.  Proposal submittal is now closed.
  • 10/25/2023 - Do you want to see flat work out to two new play areas? How far from existing flat work should we be placing new units?
    The design is completely open to you.  You can use the entire available space or just a portion of it.  Just be mindful of the two drainage areas, one on the north and one on the south side, and the existing play structures that are there.  We’ve also included “zones” showing the current locations we have students in during recess and physical education time.
  • 10/25/2023 - With regard to the Play Structures, are we {vendors] to include the boarders and wood chip fills in our proposal?
    Yes. Everything necessary, such as wood chips/boarders, etc. for the play structures and/or other items being proposed should be included.
  • 10/23/2023 - What is the use zone for both play areas?  Image suggests area available has existing concrete and structures but cannot see in aerial layout provided;
    The zones were only included for a reference as to what we were doing during COVID social distancing, but later/currently to reduce behaviors the playground.  They do NOT have to be included in the overall design but are provided.  Both the north and the south areas have some concrete areas.  The north side has the most with several smaller square concrete pads that are used currently for 4-square and tether all.  There is also one very large concrete area that has 4 basketball goals on it.  The large area would for sure remain in place.  The smaller areas were planned to remain, but depending on the design being submitted, they could be relocated. The south end has not a few concrete pads that are they in place for 4-square play.  We would want those to stay, but could be relocated if it fits within the overall plan.
  • 10/23/2023 - Is the new play area new; it looks like it is just a grass field outside of their existing play areas according to the layout.
    The whole area has always been a playground. It is 6 city blocks for the whole facility. Only the spots closer to the building have had any structures/concrete for play.  The rest has always been grass, but the whole area has been used by students.
  • 10/23/2023 - Is the existing equipment to be removed by the contractor?
    Existing equipment and existing borders will remain in place.  They are in good shape and would need to be included in the overall design of the playground.  All new equipment being proposed will need to have the appropriate fall material, border needed and an ADA ramp to access the new area.
  • 10/04/2023 - Walkthrough & Onsite tour
    For the walkthrough and tour of the playground area, please come to the main office located on the south end of the facility.  Enter the east side of the building through the security entrance.  The walkthrough will begin at 9:30 am.
  • 09/28/2023 - Updated graphic on the RFP.
    The layout of the existing soccer field was improperly located on the south side of the property. This has been corrected and properly placed on the updated RFP.
  • 09/28/2023 - Updated water drainage on the RFP.
    Indicated on the RFP additional information page is a line showing the existing water drainage for the north and side playground areas.  Please note that structures in these areas will be limited and/or not allowed due to water.
