Miss Sherri Chittum

I have taught in USD 445 for thirty-five years.  In preparation for teaching, I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from MidAmerica Nazarene University and my Masters of Science in Reading Education from Pittsburg State University.  My student teaching was completed in Kansas City, Missouri, through an urban educational program entitled CUTE (Cultural Urban Teacher Education).

In 2008, I joined a special partnership between USD 445 and Windsor Place Nursing Home in Coffeyville.  The Age-to-Age Kindergarten is an intergenerational classroom that is part of the Coffeyville School District and located at Windsor Place.  The students in this setting work with the "Grandmas and Grandpas" of Windsor Place on a daily and intergenerational basis.  The "Grands" and the "Young Learners" experience life and learning as daily educational partners.

I am a lifelong resident of Coffeyville where I attended Edgewood Elementary, McKinley Middle School, Roosevelt Junior High, and Field Kindley High School.  I attend Coffeyville First Church of the Nazarene and enjoy working with Coffeyville's families on both a professional and personal level.
