About the Principal
Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jennifer Bright
Greetings from Community Elementary in Southeast Kansas! I have had the privilege of serving as the principal at Community Elementary for the past 11 years. I love the diverse student population and the support our school receives from the community. I believe in being a servant leader and feel honored that the interview team chose me to lead the school forward. I am deeply invested in seeing our students and teachers succeed and truly believe that the students at CES and in USD 445 are learning from the best of the best! #cvilleschoolsROCK!!!
Prior to returning to southeast Kansas, I taught in various inner city schools in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to teaching, I also had the privilege of teaching in a Gifted Magnet School, serving as an Instructional Coach, being the director of an after school program, and serving as an Assistant Principal. Having been in Texas for 12 years, I can still say that Coffeyville is the place to be if you are looking for an innovative, progressive school district.
I am happily married to my best friend, and we have two amazing children. Abigail is in the 4th grade and Zachary loves being in Kindergarten. We are blessed to live near childhood friends and family members.
My educational path includes:
Bachelor degree - University of Kansas with a Major: Elementary Education and a Minor: Psychology and Social Studies
Master of Science in Education in Curriculum and Instruction - University of Kansas
Gifted Endorsement - Baylor University in Waco, Texas
Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Texas in Arlington
